Remember to take a reusable shopping bag or a few spare carrier bags with you shopping so that you don’t need to buy new ones. Usable carrier bags can be donated to food banks and charity shops. Most local supermarkets offer a carrier bag recycle scheme.

Alternatively, place plastic carrier bags in your green household waste bin.
