Wakefield’s Household Waste Recycling Centres are provided for residents to recycle and dispose of their household waste. There is no provision for commercial or trade waste disposal at these sites.

Vehicle Permits

Owners of commercial type vehicles can now apply for a permit online. The old paper ticket style system has now been phased out.

Asbestos
Disposal

You can dispose of household white cement resin bonded asbestos free of charge at our Wakefield and Glasshoughton Recycling Centres, but you will need to make an appointment.  Disposal appointments must be made at least 24 hours before you want to bring it to either of these centres. Please note there is a maximum disposal limit of 10 sheets/bags per year.
