Due to vandalism, the WEEE Waste, Books & Music and Mixed Media banks have been temporarily removed from the Morrisons Wakefield Bring Site. The nearest alternative facility is the Wakefield Household Waste Recycling Centre.

Waste Items we can dispose of starting with “a”

Batteries- Lithium ion (Rechargeable) icon

Batteries- Lithium ion (Rechargeable)

Never bin any batteries! Lithium Ion batteries are rechargeable batteries such as those found in mobile phones and cordless vacuum cleaners. These batteries must be taken to your nearest Recycling Center for recycling, some Bring Site locations or any Council run library across the district.

Please remove the Li-ion batteries from your electricals if you can, and place them separately in the Li-ion battery container at the HWRC.

They MUST NOT be placed in any kerbside bin as they pose a serious fire risk in our collection vehicles and at our waste processing site and put the safety of our staff at risk. You can find a full list of places that accept electrical items for recycling here.
